A Short and Sweet History of Black Friday
Did you know: the term Cyber Monday is a neologism invented in 2005 by the National Retail Federation’s division Shop.org. It refers to the Monday immediately following Black Friday based on a trend that retailers began to recognize. Retailers noticed that many consumers were too busy to shop over the Thanksgiving weekend or did not find what they were looking for. Therefore, they shopped for bargains online that Monday from home or work. This year, Cyber Monday occurs on November 30th.
The Tuesday following Thanksgiving, December 1st this year, is Travel Deal Tuesday. A national shopping event dedicated to helping consumers discover and book unique discounts and offers on travel. As well as celebrate travel providers who make these experiences possible. On this day, shoppers can expect to see more deals on travel than any other day in the post-Thanksgiving sale period. Last year, over 20% of all domestic and international routes had deals available. Travel Deal Tuesday will offer more deals than ever before. Shoppers can expect to see savings as much as 40% to bucket list destinations
