If you want to experience the solar eclipse on one of the Lake Erie Islands on April 8th, you have a big decision to make. Put-in-Bay will experience totality for 3 minutes and 18 seconds. Kelleys Island will be 3 minutes and 31 seconds. Which island will you pick to be on?
Based on 2023 property tax rates being used for the bills due in 2024, properties in the Shaker Square area of Cleveland, which includes the Shaker Heights schools, have the highest residential property taxes at $3,989 per $100,000 of property value, an increase of $131 from the year before. In contrast, some of the lowest average property taxes can be found in Put-In-Bay and Kelleys Island where the tax rate is below $1,500.

This past month there was chatter on social media about a deer on Put-in-Bay with a clear plastic cone type thing on his head? We’re waiting to see if anyone knows if the deer got it off.
According to WorldAtlas.com, Put-in-Bay is one of the 11 Friendliest Towns in Ohio.
We didn’t realize it, but his year marks the 50th anniversary of Founder’s Day at Put-in-Bay. This year the event will take place on June 15th.
When entertainer Toby Keith passed away recently, it brought back memories of when he performed at Put-in-Bay’s first Bash on the Bay in 2017.
South Bass Island State Parks offers four sites that are ADA compatible. Sites 23, 25 ,41 and 42. Each site comes with an extra wide pad, ADA compliant picnic table and grill. In addition to those four sites, each shower house has an ADA restroom that is completely private.
South Bass Island State Park also reports its most popular sites are the full-hookup ones for RV and trailer customers. These sites come with 50, 30 and 20-amp electrical connections along with potable water hook up and black water hook ups. Reservations can be made at reserveohio.com or by calling (866) 644-6727. As with all our sites reservations can be made six months in advance at 7 a.m.
