What’s Happening at Your Local Library?

Tue., Jan. 7th – 3:30 p.m.: Lego Night at the Library – Looking for something to do after school with your friends? Join us at the library to design your own creation out of our Legos. Let your creativity shine! Creations will be on display at the library for one week. We have plenty of Legos so no need to bring any from home. No registration required.

Wed., Jan. 8th – 11 a.m.: Coffee, Cookies and Conversation – Join us for coffee/tea, homemade cookies and friendly conversation in a comfortable, kid-free zone setting. This is a chance to talk with friends and others some place outside your home. We will supply treats, but if you want to bring something to share that would be great. No registration required.

Thu., Jan. 9th – 5-7 p.m.: Intro to Dungeons & Dragons – Learn how to play the world’s most popular roleplaying game. Understand how to build a character and fight against monsters. This event is intended for ages 13 and up. There will be a limit of 6 people. Registration will begin two weeks prior to the event online at idarupp.org/calendar or by calling (419) 285-4004.

Mon., Jan. 13th – 10 a.m.: Preschool Story Time – Join us for a half hour of reading, song and a craft to take home. Parents and caregivers are asked to stay with their children for this winter event. No registration required.

Tue., Jan. 14th – 3:30 p.m.: Library Scavenger Hunt – Join us for a fun scavenger hunt inside the library. We will form teams to see who will be able to find the clues needed to complete their twelve tasks. Who will be the winner? No registration required.

Wed., Jan. 15th – 5:30 p.m.: Words & Wine Book Club – Join us at the Put-in-Bay Yacht Club and share a book you have read while enjoying a beverage of your own choosing. Even if you haven’t had time to read, you are welcome to join us to hear what others are suggesting. We can’t wait to hear what you have been reading! New adult members are always welcome. No registration necessary.

Thu., Jan. 16th – 5-6:30 p.m.: Movie Night: Lady and the Tramp – It’s Movie Night at the Library! Join us for “Walt Disney’s Lady and the Tramp.” Meet Lady, a pampered cocker spaniel, and Tramp, a mutt that scavenges in trash, as their friendship blossoms. Delightful movie for all ages. Rated G. Popcorn will be served along with a beverage. No registration required.

Mon., Jan. 20th: CLOSED

Wed., Jan. 22nd – 1 p.m.: Adult Coloring – Looking for a relaxing activity to do with friends? Do you like to color? Then we have just the event for you! We have lots of zentangle coloring books. Come on down, choose a page and start coloring your worries away! This event is intended for adults. Coffee/tea will be available. No registration required.

Thu., Jan. 23rd – 3:30 p.m.: Hot Wheels Night – Looking for something to do with your friends? Join us at the library to design your own race track for Hot Wheel cars. Who will have the fastest track? The longest track? We have everything needed: tracks, connectors, cars. Fun for all ages! No registration required.
