What’s Happening at Your Local Library?
Are you looking for a part-time, year-round position? We are searching for a library clerk to work approximately 20 hours per week, which may include mornings, afternoons, evenings or weekends. Depending on your experience, your compensation would be $15-$17 per hour, plus vacation, sick time and holiday pay. Call us at (419) 285-4004 if you are interested or have any questions. Tue., Feb. 4th – 3:30 p.m.: Bingo for Books! – Bingo! Come play this popular game after school with your friends. Every Bingo gets to choose a book to keep. Bring your friends! No registration required.
NEW EVENT! Wed., Feb. 5th – 1 p.m.: “Take a Break” Book Club – We thought we needed a different kind of book club. For this first meeting, read a book of your choosing that is fiction. Each month that we meet a new genre will be suggested. We will be meeting in the library where you can relax with a warm cup of coffee or tea. Genres to come: Nonfiction (March), Biography (April) No registration required.
Thu., Feb. 6th – 3:30-4:15 p.m.: Hot Chocolate Story Time – It’s cold outside! Let’s warm up with a story and some warm hot chocolate. Enjoy a cup of hot chocolate while the librarian reads a story. This event is intended for grades 1-4. No registration required.
Mon., Feb. 10th – 10 a.m.: PreSchool Story Time – Join us for a half hour of reading, song and a craft to take home. Parents and caregivers are asked to stay with their children for this winter event. No registration required.
Tue., Feb. 11th – 3:30 p.m.: Lego Night – Looking for something to do after school with your friends? Join us at the library to design your own creation out of our Legos. Let your creativity shine! Creations will be on display at the library for one week. We have plenty of Legos so no need to bring any from home. No registration required.
Wed., Feb. 12th – 11 a.m.: Coffee, Cookies & Conversation – Join us for coffee/tea, homemade cookies and friendly conversation in a comfortable, kid-free zone setting. This is a chance to talk with friends and others some place outside your home. We will supply treats, but if you want to bring something to share that would be great. No registration required.
Thu. Feb. 13th – 5-6:30 p.m.: Movie Night: Garfield Movie – Join us for a hilarious flick: “The Garfield Movie.” You’ll laugh your way through this lovable cat’s antics and puppy friend Odie. Rated PG. Popcorn and a beverage will be served. No registration required.
Mon., Feb. 17th: CLOSED for President’s Day.
Wed., Feb. 19th – 5:30 p.m.: Words & Wine Book Club – Join us and share a book you have read while enjoying a beverage of your own choosing. Even if you haven’t had time to read, you are welcome to join us to hear what others are suggesting. We can’t wait to hear what you have been reading! New adult members are always welcome. We will meet at Put-in-Bay Yacht Club. No registration necessary.
