What’s Happening at Your Local Library?

WE NEED YOU! Are you looking for a fun, part-time job? We have a clerk position open at the library. Stop by and talk to us today.

Week of July 1st-5th: Make Your Own Potholder – Stop by anytime this week to make your own colorful potholder. We have three looms so bring a friend along. We have many different colors to choose from! Must be made in the library. No registration needed.

Tue., July 1st – 4 p.m.: Make Your Own Cork Sailboat – Ahoy Matey! Let’s sail the inland pools by crafting your own sailing vessel. Join us to use unique island materials to build your fleet. No registration required.

Fri., July 4th: CLOSED – Independence Day

Tue., July 8th – 4 p.m.: Tie Dye Your Own Pillowcase – Join us to tie-dye your very own pillowcase! We’ll have everything you need to create your own unique colorful design. Space is limited to 20. Registration is required. Registration opened on June 24th.

Fri., July 11th – 2 to 3:30 p.m.: Summer Reading Grand Finale! – Color Our World with Erie Islands Library and Lake Erie Islands Wildlife & Nature Center! We are teaming up with our friends at the LEIWNC for our summer reading grand finale! We will meet on the back porch for some fun nature activities. Attendees will then be able to visit the nature center or stroll through the wooded path behind the center. Join us for a fun time! No registration necessary.

Sat., July 12th – 10 a.m.: Tech Help 101 with Dustin – Join University of Dayton computer tech Dustin Boyed for technical help on your electronic devices: laptop, cell phone, etc. Bring your device and your questions or things you want to know more about. This will be an open forum format and a chance for you to ask questions and receive help. Space is limited to 6, registration is required. Registration opens on June 28th. If seats are available on the day of event, they will be filled on first come, first served basis.

Wednesday, July 16th – 5:30 p.m.: Words & Wine Book Club – Join us and share a book you have read while enjoying a beverage of your own choosing. Even if you haven’t had time to read, you are welcome to join us to hear what others are suggesting. We can’t wait to hear what you have been reading! New adult members are always welcome. We will meet at Duff Vineyards, weather permitting. Bring your own chair. No registration necessary.

Thu., July 17th: Tattoo Day – It’s National Tattoo Day! Stop by the Erie Islands Library between 3-5 p.m. to pick out your very own temporary tattoo! While supplies last. No registration required.

Tue., July 22nd – 5 p.m.: Wine Glass Succulent Planters – Are you looking for a plant that requires little care, other than sunshine and occasional watering? We can help you out with this quick and easy succulent planter. We will be using stemless wine glasses to create a fun planter. Adults and Teens Only. Space is limited to 8, registration is required. Registration opens on July 8th.
